Sachdev Rice Mill

This mill has been part of Maur Mandi in Bhatinda for a good number of years now. If you head toward the Krishan Mandir Market, you will find us easily enough. It’s a busy spot, especially during the harvest months when the trucks are lined up all the way down the road. It gets very loud with the machines running all day long, and the air is always thick with that specific smell of raw rice and husks. We aren't a massive operation, just a local rice mill trying to keep up with the daily orders that come in from the surrounding areas. Most of the guys working here have been with us since the start, so we all know how the old machines tend to act up on rainy days. We spend a lot of time just maintaining the equipment and making sure the bags are stacked correctly so they don't fall over. It is hard work and your clothes get dirty by ten in the morning, but that is just how life is in the mandi. We don’t have a fancy office or anyone to answer the phones in a professional way. Usually, someone just shouts over the noise if a customer pulls up. We deal with the 151509 area farmers mostly. It’s a practical business and we don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. We just process the grain and get it moved out to the shops as quickly as we can.
