S. R. Enterprise

We are located at 74 in the New Market Yard in Mansa. If you know the area, you know how busy the yard gets, especially during the harvest season. S. R. Enterprise is basically a large shed where we store and move different items throughout the week. There is always dust in the air from the trucks driving over the gravel. We start our day very early, usually before the sun is fully up, because that’s when the first loads arrive. It’s a very practical environment. We have a small corner with a table and a couple of chairs where we talk to the drivers and handle the bills. The rest of the space is just for the goods. We don’t have any fancy decorations or a reception area. It’s just concrete floors and high ceilings. Sometimes the stray dogs from the market wander in looking for shade, and we don’t mind. Mansa is a small town, so everyone in the market yard knows each other. We help each other out when a truck gets stuck or if someone needs an extra hand with loading. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We’ve been at this spot for several years now and the routine doesn’t change much. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure the counts are right before we head home for the evening. It’s a lot of manual labor but it keeps us going.
