Rice Broker

Our office is in Building No-4971, tucked away in Affim Wali Gali, right near the Municipal Corporation. It’s a bit of a maze in these lanes, but once you find the big corporation building, we aren't far. We work as rice brokers, which basically means we spend our whole day on the phone or talking to people who come by the office. It’s not a fancy place. There are some old chairs, a few desks, and samples of rice everywhere in small little bags. We don’t grow the rice ourselves; we just help it move from one place to another. The lane is usually crowded with people and scooters, so it’s always lively. We’ve been operating out of this building for years. It’s got that old-city feel where the walls are thick and the rooms stay a bit cooler in the summer. We don't have a big marketing team or a website that looks professional. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they’ve been doing business with us for decades. We keep a ledger for all the deals, and things are mostly done with a handshake and a promise. It’s a traditional way of doing things, but it works for us. We just sit here, drink our tea, and talk about market prices all day. It’s a steady life and we’ve grown to appreciate the rhythm of the bazaar. Every bag of rice has a story, and we help tell it.
