About Ranjeet Kaur Johal Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Bathinda
I work out of house number P-14 right on the campus of GZS College of Engineering and Technology. Being located at the college means I am always around students and other faculty members. It's a specific kind of environment to have an architectural practice in. I focus on my drawings and plans from here. The atmosphere is academic but my work is very much about real buildings. I’ve been an architect for quite some time, and having my space at the engineering college keeps me grounded in the technical side of things. People often come by to talk about their building projects or ask for some technical drawings. It’s not a formal corporate office with a receptionist. It’s just me and my workspace. I spend a lot of time at my table with a pencil and a ruler. Bathinda can get quite hot in the summer, but the campus has some greenery that helps. I handle the local projects mostly. It’s a lot of small-scale stuff, which I prefer because I can keep an eye on all the details. I try not to make things more complicated than they need to be. If a wall can be simple, keep it simple. My door is usually open for anyone who has a project in mind. I know the local rules and how things get built around here. It has been my base for a long time.
