Maa Saraswati Rice Mills

Maa Saraswati Rice Mills is located out in Ward No. 2, over in Tehsil Nathana. We are right in Bhucho Mandi, not too far from Poohli Road. If you come out this way, you’ll see the mill pretty easily. It’s a big, dusty place because of all the grain we handle. We’ve been part of this mandi for years now. The sounds of the machinery are something you just get used to after a while. It’s loud and it’s constant when we are in the middle of the season. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Mostly it's just the scales, the bags, and the trucks coming in and out. The yard gets pretty muddy when it rains, which can be a real pain for the drivers. We spend a lot of time outside making sure the loads are right. It’s hard work and it’s not always clean, but it’s what we know. Being near Poohli Road helps with the transport side of things. We see a lot of the same farmers year after year. It’s a tight community in Ward No. 2. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of our day is spent on our feet, checking the machines or talking to the workers. It is a straightforward operation. We just mill the rice and try to keep things moving along without too many breakdowns.
