L. P. Rice & General Mills

L. P. Rice & General Mills is situated on Talwandi Road. If you are driving by, we are right near the Thermal Plant, which is a pretty big landmark around here. Our mill has been part of this landscape for a good while. It’s a dusty, busy place most of the time, especially when things are in full swing. We don't have a reception desk with flowers or anything like that. It’s a working mill where the machines run and the trucks come and go. Being near the Thermal Plant means people usually know the general direction to head in. We just focus on the grain and the daily milling tasks that come with the territory. Some days are longer than others, especially during the harvest seasons. The staff here mostly consists of locals who have been with us for years. We aren’t trying to be the biggest or the flashiest. We just want to do the work and stay out of the way. Talwandi Road is a familiar route for us, and we’ve become a small fixture on this stretch of land. It’s hard work, and it isn't always pretty, but it’s what we do. We don’t have any fancy mission statements posted on the walls. We just show up, start the machines, and get through the day’s load. It is just a regular mill and we are regular people working here. Every bag that leaves here is just part of our routine.
