Ishwar Garag Architect

Our place is on Mamdev Marg, specifically Street No. 5A. We are right opposite Magnum Opus. If you know that building, then finding Ishwar Garag Architect is pretty easy. It’s a regular street with a lot of coming and going. Inside, the office is usually filled with rolls of drawings and samples of tiles or wood. It gets a bit dusty sometimes because of all the samples but that’s just part of the job. I spend a lot of my time talking to contractors or trying to get a design to work within a weirdly shaped plot of land. Being on Mamdev Marg is convenient for most of the people who need to see me. I don’t use a lot of fancy software just for the sake of it, I just use what works. Sometimes I stay late because the ideas don’t come until it’s dark out and the street gets quiet. It’s a small operation here. I like being able to walk to the local shops for a quick lunch and then coming back to the drawing board. There isn’t a whole lot of ceremony at this office. We just take the projects as they come and try to do right by the space we are given. It’s been this way for a while now and I don’t see it changing much. Just a local architect’s office doing its thing in the neighborhood. We focus on the plans. Sometimes it’s busy and sometimes it’s not.
