Steag

Our work at Steag happens right at the Hmel Refinery. It is a very specific environment to be in, surrounded by the pipes and towers of the refinery. The scale of the place is huge, and we are just one part of the activity that goes on here every single day. Getting to the refinery involves a bit of a commute, and once you are inside the gates, it feels like a city of its own. Our daily life is governed by the schedules and safety rules of the facility. It is not your typical office job in a downtown building. There is a lot of noise from the machinery and the constant movement of crews. We spend a lot of time in our designated area, keeping things moving along. The air has that industrial scent, and you always hear the low hum of the plant running in the background. Our team is used to the grit and the practical nature of working in a refinery. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls or plush carpets. It is all metal, concrete, and hard work. We focus on our technical tasks and make sure everything we are responsible for is handled correctly. It’s the kind of job where you come home with a bit of dirt on your boots, but you know you’ve done a full day’s work. We just show up, do our part at Hmel, and head home.
