We are based at House No 20 in Bhagat Singh Colony over in Rampuraphul. It’s in the Bathinda district of Punjab. Being in a house rather than a big office building makes the whole place feel a bit more relaxed. It is a residential area, so it’s mostly quiet except for the usual neighborhood sounds. We have converted the space into a working office for our digital media work. Half Machine is just a name on the paperwork; really, it’s just a group of us sitting in a converted room with our laptops. We like the vibe of Rampuraphul because it isn't as frantic as the bigger cities. Most of us live nearby, so the commute is just a quick walk or a short ride. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. It’s just a place where we put in our hours and try to keep up with the digital world. The rooms are filled with cables and computers, and we usually have some tea going in the kitchen. It’s a very simple way of doing things, without any corporate pressure. We just focus on the projects we have at hand. Sometimes we sit out in the small yard when we need a break from the screens. It’s an honest way to work, and being in Bhagat Singh Colony feels like being part of a community while we do our jobs. We are just here doing our thing.
