Dharampal Rice Mill

Dharampal Rice Mill sits out on Bareh Road in the Budhlada Taluka, which is part of the Mansa district. If you are coming from the Budhlada-Rattian Road, you will find us tucked away in a spot that sees a fair amount of heavy traffic from the trucks. The mill is a big, noisy place when the machines are running, and there is always a fine layer of rice dust over everything in the yard. We spend our days managing the intake of paddy and seeing it through the milling process. It is a lot of physical work, moving heavy bags around and making sure the equipment is behaving itself. The weather in Mansa can be quite harsh, really hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but the work at the mill doesn't really stop for that. Our office is just a small room where we handle the paperwork and talk to the drivers who come in from the nearby fields. We don't have a big staff, just enough people to keep the grain moving and the bags stacked up properly. The road outside can get quite muddy when it rains, making things a bit difficult for the loaders, but we manage to get through it. It is an honest living, and we have been at this location for a good amount of time, seeing the same faces year after year during the peak seasons. It’s just how things are done here on Bareh Road.
