Deep Rice & General Mills

You can find us at Shop No-135 in the New Grain Market. It is a crowded place especially when the market is open. There are people shouting and tractors moving everywhere. Deep Rice & General Mills isn't a huge operation but we fit a lot into this space. The shop is mostly just for the business side of things and keeping some samples. The air in the market smells like dry earth and diesel. We spend a lot of our day standing around the entrance talking to people who come by. We have a small desk where the ledgers stay and the fan there is always wobbling. It gets very loud in the afternoons when all the shops are busy. Sometimes it is hard to hear yourself think but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. It is just the calendar and maybe a few old photos from years ago. The floor is usually covered in a thin layer of grain because it spills out of the samples. We sweep it every evening but it is back again the next morning. It is a lot of handshakes and waiting for the right price to come along. The New Grain Market is where everything happens for us and we have been at Shop 135 for a long time now. We just take it one day at a time and keep moving.
