Brar Clinic

Brar Clinic is located right at Ghanta Ghar Chowk in Faridkot. The clock tower is the heart of the city, so we are right where all the noise and energy is. There are vendors selling fruit and clothes just outside our door, and the sound of the market is constant. The clinic has been a fixture here for a long time, and many people in Faridkot remember coming here even when they were kids. It is a small place, nothing like the big hospitals you see in the cities. We have a few rooms for checkups and a small area where people can wait. The walls are painted a simple color and we have some old fans that keep the air moving in the summer heat. Most of our day is spent seeing people from the local villages who come into town for the market and stop by to see the doctor. We do not have a fancy computerized calling system, so the staff just calls out names when it is time to come in. The doctor is usually in by mid-morning and stays until the last patient is seen. It is a very traditional way of running a clinic, but it works for us and the people here. We know the families and we know their stories. Life at Ghanta Ghar Chowk is never boring, and we are glad to be a small part of the daily routine in Faridkot.
