Bansal Shelly Architect operates out of the P.L. Mittal & Co. office, located at 3050, Power House Road. It is a busy area, especially with all the traffic coming through Power House Road throughout the day. The office is more of a shared professional space, so it has a very busy, working atmosphere. Shelly Bansal spends most of the time here at a large desk covered in site plans and legal documents. It is not a minimalist studio; it is a place where real work happens, often with multiple things going on at once. There is a constant sound of phones ringing and people discussing project details. We have a lot of cabinets filled with blueprints and structural reports. The view out the window is mostly just the road and the buildings across the way, which keeps us grounded in the urban environment we are designing for. The office is practical—lots of pens, calculators, and stacks of paper. We do not have any fancy art on the walls, just the technical drawings we are currently working on. It is a straightforward setup. We find that being on Power House Road makes it easy for contractors and clients to drop by, even if the parking can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. It is just where we do our daily work, drafting and planning projects. We usually keep some blueprints rolled up in the corner ready for the next site meeting. It is a solid place to work.
