Kailash Mechanical Works

Kailash Mechanical Works is right on the G.T. Road in the Batala area, which is in the Gurdaspur district. Being on such a major road means we see a lot of people passing through every single day. Batala is famous for its mechanical and industrial history, so we are in the right place for what we do. The workshop is a big, open space where we have all our heavy machinery set up. It’s loud and it’s greasy, but that is how a mechanical works should be. We deal with a lot of metal and heavy components, so there is always a bit of iron smell in the air. We don't wear suits or sit in air-conditioned offices. Most of the time, we are in our work clothes with grease under our fingernails. The G.T. Road is always busy with trucks and buses, and that energy keeps us going. We’ve been part of this industrial community in Batala for many years and we know the other shop owners down the road. It’s a hard-working environment where you get what you see. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just fix the machines and make sure they are sturdy enough to go back into service. It’s the kind of work that requires a lot of patience and some heavy lifting, and we are happy to do it.
