You’ll find Ghk Auto Engineering Co. out on G.T. Road in the village of Manawala. Being right on the main road means there’s a constant stream of trucks and cars passing by at all hours. It can get pretty loud and dusty, but that’s just life on the G.T. Road. Our workshop is a plain building with a lot of space for the work we do. We don't have a tiled lobby or an air-conditioned waiting room. It’s a place for tools and grease and getting things fixed. The floor is concrete and usually has a few marks on it. We’ve been in Manawala for a long time. People around here know where we are. We don't spend time on fancy brochures or sales pitches. We just look at what needs to be done and we do it. The sun can be pretty brutal in the summer, especially with the metal roof, but we just keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze there is. We aren't a big city operation with a marketing team. We’re just local people working in a shop. Some days the work is steady, and other days it’s a bit of a scramble. We take it as it comes. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. If you’re driving through Manawala on the G.T. Road, you’ve probably seen our sign.
