Sushil General Store

Our little shop is at No. 37 in Rasila Nagar. Most people around here know us because we are right near Kuku Radio in the Basti Danishmanda area. It’s a simple general store where we sell the basic things you need at home. We have stuff like flour, lentils, soaps, and little snacks for the kids. We started this place a while back because there weren't many shops nearby for the neighbors to get their daily supplies. The shop isn't very large, so we have to use the space wisely. Sometimes boxes are piled up in the corners, but we know exactly where everything is kept. Jalandhar has its own pace, and we just follow it. We spend a lot of time chatting with the people who stop by. It’s more of a community thing than just a business. We don’t have any fancy signs or big advertisements. We just rely on the people living nearby knowing we are here. The building is quite basic and we haven't done much to change it over the years. We take turns sitting behind the counter. On some days it is very quiet, and on other days everyone seems to come in at once. We don't mind the rush. We just try to help everyone as they come. It’s a lot of lifting and moving heavy bags around, but that’s just part of the job. We are happy just being a small part of the Rasila Nagar area.
