Shifa Clinic

Our place, Shifa Clinic, is situated on D.G Road. It’s a very straightforward kind of setup we have here. We don’t have a massive lobby or a receptionist wearing a suit. Usually, you just walk right in and someone will see you as soon as they are free. The floor is made of tile and it’s actually a bit cracked in the corner near the entrance, but we keep it as clean as we can. We spend a lot of time cleaning, because the road outside stays busy and kicks up a lot of grit and dust. We’ve got a couple of ceiling fans going to keep the air moving, though they don't do much when it gets really humid in the afternoons. Most of our day is spent handling the usual things that people bring to us. We have a small back room where we keep the extra medical supplies and a small kettle for making coffee when we get a break. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in the back. D.G Road has changed quite a bit over the years with all the new shops opening up, but we’ve stayed pretty much the same. We don’t see much point in changing things if they still work for us. We use an old paper calendar on the wall to keep track of the date, even if we forget to flip the page sometimes. It’s just a small, local spot where we try to be useful to the people living nearby.
