Living and working in Village Domariyaganj is what we know. Janta Ice Cream is right here, at the post area in the village. It is in the Siddharthnagar district, which can get very hot during the middle of the year. Being near the post office means we see everyone coming and going. The shop isn't big. It has the basics. We spend a lot of our day making sure the machines are running right. In a village like this, news travels fast and everyone knows what we have in the coolers. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It's just us. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to worry about the ice cream melting, which is the hardest part of the job. People come in from the surrounding fields or the taluka for a break. We see the same families every week. The floor is concrete and we have a few chairs. It gets dusty because of the roads in Domariyaganj, so we sweep a lot. Janta Ice Cream is just a part of the daily life here in the village. We don’t try to be something we aren't. We just stay open and wait for the customers. Siddharthnagar is a big district but our little corner is quiet. We focus on the daily tasks. If you come to the post office, you will see us there.
