Jaiswal Hardware

Jaiswal Hardware is based in Jhugiya Village, which is part of the Harraiya Tehsil in Basti District. We are located near the Kaptanganj School, so we hear the school bell and the kids playing every day. It’s a quiet village life for the most part, but the shop stays busy with people from the surrounding farms and houses. We sell all the basic things people need for building or fixing their homes. Buckets, nails, pipes, and tools are stacked up everywhere you look. It’s not a supermarket; you have to ask us where something is because we know the piles better than anyone. My family runs the place and we’ve been here since the roads were much narrower. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our stock, just a ledger and our memory. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, but we just sweep it out and keep going. People stop by not just to buy stuff but to talk about the weather or the crops. It’s a community thing. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone in the village. It’s a simple life but we are proud to provide what the local folks need without them having to travel all the way to the big city. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when the shop is quiet for a few minutes.
