Maa Steels

Maa Steels is located out on Nidgundi Road, right by the Ambedkar Circle in Bijapur. It’s a dusty spot, but it’s where we do all our work with steel. We’ve got stacks of metal and bars sitting around most of the time. The trucks come and go all day, especially since the circle is such a busy junction for the district. It’s not a quiet job, there is always the sound of metal clanging or someone loading up a trailer. We’ve been at this for a bit now, just keeping the stock ready for whenever someone needs it for a build. The weather in Bijapur can get really hot, so the shed gets a bit like an oven in the afternoon. We usually take our breaks when the sun is at its worst. It’s a simple operation, really. Just a few of us making sure the orders are right and the steel is moving out on time. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just the yard and the office near the road. People know us because we’ve been at the Ambedkar Circle for so long. If you’re coming down Nidgundi Road, you can’t really miss the stacks. We just try to get the work done and go home at the end of the day. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do.
