M G Memorial Public School

Our school, M G Memorial Public School, is located in Village Karhi, which is just a short distance from the center of Tehsil Maheshwar. If you find the Hotel Devraj Palace, you’re pretty much there. It’s a quiet area for the most part, except for when the kids are arriving or leaving. I’ve been helping out here for a few years, and it’s been interesting to see how the village has changed around us. The school building is a modest one, nothing too tall or fancy. We have a small playground that gets very dusty in the summer, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We spend a lot of our time just managing the day-to-day things, like making sure the books are handed out and the teachers have what they need. There is a specific rhythm to life here in Karhi. People stop by the gate just to say hello or to ask for a bit of help with a form. We don’t have a big corporate office or a polished reception desk. It’s just a small room with a wooden table and a few chairs for guests. The windows look out onto the trees and the nearby fields. Sometimes a cow wanders too close to the fence and we have to shoo it away. It’s a very local way of doing things, and we like it that way because it feels honest and real for the families who live around here.
