Patton International Ltd might sound like a big corporate name, but we work out of this apartment space, which keeps things grounded. The traffic on Garia Main Road is something else, especially during office hours, so we hear the horns honking all day long. It is a bit of a climb to the flat, but once you are inside, it is a quiet enough place to get work done. We handle a lot of international coordination from these rooms. It is funny thinking about goods moving across borders while we sit here in a residential building in Kolkata. We have computers, some filing cabinets, and a very old coffee machine that we probably should have replaced last year. The rooms are a bit cramped because we have so much paperwork, but we know where everything is. It feels more like a home than a sterile office, which I think makes the team more relaxed. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. People just knock and come in. We spend our time emailing and calling people in different time zones. It is a simple setup, but it works for what we do. We just keep our heads down and stay busy throughout the week. It gets the job done without any unnecessary fuss.
