You can find Overseas Leather Arts at C/41, Chalanttika on Garia Station Road. It’s a spot that’s easy enough to get to if you’re coming by train. We’ve been doing leather work here for quite some time now. It’s a craft that takes a lot of effort and your hands get dirty every single day. The shop smells like hides and glue, which is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We aren't a factory; it’s more of a workshop where we take our time with things. We have piles of leather in the corners and tools hanging on the walls. It’s not very organized to an outsider, but we know where everything is. The noise from Garia Station Road is always there in the background, but we don't pay it much mind anymore. We have a few regulars who stop by to see what we are working on. We don't really do much in the way of promotion. The work usually speaks for itself, or people just hear about us from their neighbors. It’s a bit cramped inside, especially when we have a big shipment of raw materials coming in. We just move things around and make space. It’s a real place where real work happens. We don't try to make it look like something it isn't. It’s just us and the leather. That is how it has always been.
