Privet Hospital

This place in Malshiras is where we spend most of our time. It’s a Privet Hospital, and yes, the sign says exactly that. Malshiras is a quiet town for the most part, but the hospital stays steady. We have a few rooms for people who need to stay over. The beds are simple metal ones, the kind you see everywhere. We have a small garden area out back, though it’s mostly just grass and a couple of trees that don't get much water in the dry season. The main entrance has a heavy door that squeaks every time someone opens it. We keep saying we should oil it, but we always forget when things get busy. Most of the families around here know us. We see the same people for years. The waiting area has a big clock on the wall that ticks quite loudly. Sometimes, when it’s very quiet at night, that’s all you can hear. We have a small kitchen where we make tea for the staff and sometimes for the patients’ families. It’s not a big corporate building with glass elevators. It’s just a two-story structure made of concrete. We paint it every few years to keep it looking okay. The wind blows a lot of dust from the fields nearby, so there is always a bit of grit on the windowsills. We just do what we can with what we have.
