Social Event Management

Social Event Management is based at 19/B.C. Chatterjee Roadtalpukur. It’s a small office where we do all the planning and coordinating for different gatherings. The space is usually filled with stacks of folders, sample fabrics, and notes scribbled on scraps of paper. It’s not a very tidy place, but we know where everything is. Being on B.C. Chatterjee Road means we are right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You can hear the neighbors going about their lives while we are on the phone trying to track down a tent supplier or a cook. We spend a lot of time running out to meet people or checking on venues, so the office is often empty for parts of the day. When we are here, we are usually huddled around the desk trying to make the numbers work. We don't use any fancy software or high-tech tools. It is mostly just phone calls and face-to-face meetings. There is a lot of pressure when an event is coming up, and things sometimes go wrong at the last minute. We just find a way to fix it and keep going. It’s a bit of a scramble, but that’s just how this kind of work is. We aren't a big agency with a logo on everything. We are just local folks helping put things together.
