Shiv Guru Fashion Garments

Shiv Guru Fashion Garments is right in the middle of Calcutta. If you know the city, you know how loud and fast everything is. We have been in the garment trade for a long time. It’s mostly just piles of shirts and trousers everywhere you look. We don’t have much in the way of decoration. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint but we are usually too busy to worry about that. We get people coming in from all over the neighborhood. Some stay to chat, others are in a rush. We handle a lot of wholesale stuff too, so there are always boxes being moved around. The staff is just a few of us who have lived in Calcutta our whole lives. We know the shortcuts and where to get the best chai while we work. In the afternoons, the shop gets quite hot. We have a couple of old fans that do their best. It’s a simple business. We buy the stock, we organize it, and we sell it. There isn't much more to it than that. Some days are slow, especially when it rains heavily and the streets flood, but mostly we are on our feet from morning until the shutters go down at night. It’s just how life is here in this part of town. We enjoy the noise and the busy feeling of it all, even on the long days.
