Pyne Architect

If you head down Cd Ghat Road towards the Panihati area, you will find us near Mitra Para Lane. Our office is quite close to the Po Panihati area and not too far from the Burning Ghat. It is a quiet part of town compared to the main city, which helps when you need to sit down and draw up house plans. Being an architect here means we deal with a lot of local families who want to build something on their own land. We spend a lot of time walking around the neighborhood and looking at how the old buildings were made. It is a lot of measuring and re-measuring. Our workspace is pretty basic. We have our tables and our computers and a lot of rolled-up sheets of paper everywhere. We do not put on an act for anyone. When someone comes in, we just sit down and talk about what they need for their house or their shop. We know the local rules and how the ground is around here. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to get to sites, especially during the monsoon, but we manage. We have been part of the Panihati community for a good bit now. Most of our day is spent making sure the dimensions are right and that the builders understand the sketches. It is practical work and we like it that way.
