Nawal Joshi

My name is Nawal Joshi and I operate out of Old Ambagan, near the 19No. Railway Gate in Bengal Enamel. It is a small area in the 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. You can hear the trains passing by quite often since the gate is right there. It becomes a bit of a background noise after you have been here for a few days. The office is just a simple room with the basic things I need to get through the day. I have lived and worked in this area for a long time, so I know most of the people who walk past the door every morning. It is a very local kind of life. There is a lot of dust from the road and the tracks, so I am always cleaning my desk. My neighbors are mostly shopkeepers and families who have been here for generations. Life moves a bit slower here than in the big city of Kolkata. I usually start my work after a quick walk around the neighborhood. There is no big sign outside or anything like that. People who need to find me usually just ask around at the railway gate and someone points them in the right direction. It is a humble setup, but it allows me to do what I need to do without too much fuss or extra cost. I like the routine of the trains and the familiar faces in the street.
