Bengal Handloom Saree

We are over at 48 Subhash Pally in Nandan Nagar. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, away from the main noise. We’ve been focusing on handloom sarees for a long time because that’s what we know best. My family has been involved with this kind of work for years. We aren't a big showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just a regular shop where we keep the sarees stacked up on the wooden counters. Dealing with handloom means you see a lot of different patterns every day. Some people like the simple ones and others want something more detailed for weddings. We just show them what we have in the back. Living and working in Nandan Nagar is pretty decent. Most of our customers live just a few houses away. They stop by to chat as much as they do to buy anything. It makes the day go by faster. Sometimes we get shipments that take forever to arrive, and we have to tell people to come back next week. It’s not perfect, but it’s our business. We spend a lot of time checking the threads and making sure things look okay. It’s a lot of sitting and folding, to be honest.
