Vilaayat Darvaar Foundation

We are out in Niz Moinbari, which is part of the Mayanbari area in Barpeta. Our foundation runs out of Shohidul Islam Mondal’s place. Being in rural Assam means we are far from the big city lights, but there is plenty of work to do right here. We focus on our local community in Barpeta. The 781321 area is where we live and where we spend all our time. We started the Vilaayat Darvaar Foundation because we saw a need for people to come together and solve their own problems. We don't wait for outsiders to come and help. It’s all about the local folks helping each other. We might be sitting in a small room in a village house, but we talk about big things. Sometimes it's about helping a kid stay in school, or maybe helping someone get to a hospital when they are sick. It's all very informal and based on trust between neighbors. Shohidul is well known around here, so everyone knows where to go if they need the foundation’s help. We don't have a lot of resources, but we have a lot of heart. It’s just how things are done in Niz Moinbari. We don't need any fancy titles or offices. We just need to be here for the people who live in Mayanbari. If the weather is good, we are usually out in the yard talking to whoever stops by.
