Students Care

Our shop is right by the Barpeta Road railway station, which makes it easy for students to stop by on their way home. We called it Students Care because that is mostly who we see all day long. It is a noisy spot with the trains constantly passing by, but we got used to that sound years ago. We keep a lot of different things on the shelves, mostly stuff for school and college work. If a kid needs a specific pen or a notebook for a class, they usually find it here. The space is a bit tight because we try to pack in as much as we can. It is not the neatest place you have ever seen, but we know where everything is kept. Sometimes parents come in looking for something their child forgot to mention until the last minute. We spend a lot of time sorting through papers and ordering new stock from the suppliers. It is a busy life being so close to the station. We do not have a big staff, just a couple of us helping out. The floor gets a bit dusty from all the foot traffic, especially during the monsoon season. We just keep the doors open and help whoever walks in. It is a simple setup for everyone. We do not do anything fancy with the window display. It is just a practical shop for the local students around Barpeta Road. We stay open until the evening rush finishes up.
