This business has been in the family for a long time. We are based in Barpathar, right near the DMS High School. You can hear the school bells ringing throughout the day and see the students walking by in their uniforms. It’s a familiar sight for us at Satish Chander Goyal & Sons. The shop is located in a spot that’s easy to find if you are coming from the main part of Tahsil-Barpathar. We handle a variety of goods, mostly just what the local people need for their homes. It’s not a large corporation with lots of departments, just a father and sons type of setup. We do most of the work ourselves, from opening the shutters in the morning to locking up at night. The building is older, and we’ve kept it pretty much the same as it was years ago. Sometimes the power goes out or the rain makes the street a bit messy, but we just keep going. We know most of our customers by name because they’ve been coming to us since they were kids at that school next door. It’s a small-town way of doing things. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are. It’s about being a steady presence in the community and helping out where we can. We just focus on the work at hand and keeping the shelves stocked.
