P. S. Steel

Our shop, P. S. Steel, sits right near the 132 Kv Sub Station on Barnala Road. If you are looking for us, we are in the New Housing Board Colony area. The Shiv Mandir is just a short walk away, so people usually use that as a landmark to find us. It’s a busy enough area with people coming and going from the housing board. We spend most of our hours dealing with various steel pieces and getting them ready. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the machines are running and we are moving heavy stock around. The sub station is right there, so it’s a familiar sight for anyone living around here. We open up in the morning and stay until the work is done. Some days are longer than others when there is a lot of cutting to do. We don't have any flashy displays. It’s just us, the steel, and our tools. You get used to the smell of metal after a while. Most of our neighbors in the colony know us by now. We try to keep the front tidy, but it's a steel shop, so there is always some scrap lying around. We just work through the day and handle whatever comes in. Barnala Road stays pretty active, so there is always noise from the traffic mixing with our work. It’s just a normal day for us here at the shop.
