Iol Chemical & Pharmacutical Ltd. is based out in Po- Dhaula, right along the Barnala Mansa Road. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but having the space on the road to Barnala is important for what we do. We’re a bigger operation than some of the shops in town, dealing with chemicals and pharma products on a larger scale. The site is pretty expansive, with different sections for processing and storage. When you walk around the yard, you can see the scale of the materials we handle every day. It’s a lot of responsibility, so we spend a good chunk of our time just following the basic safety steps and checking the machines. The weather out here can be tough, either very hot or quite dusty, which makes the work more tiring. We have a lot of local workers from Dhaula and the surrounding villages who come in for their shifts. It feels like a community in a way, even if we’re all just here to do a job. The office part of the building is usually humming with the sound of fans and people talking over the noise of the machinery. We don't put on any airs; we're just a group of people working with chemicals in a rural part of the district. Every day brings a new set of problems to solve, like a broken valve or a late truck, but we just take them one at a time. It’s steady work and it keeps a lot of families in the area going.
