Bajrang Bali Rice Mills

If you drive down Barnala Road, you’ll eventually see our gates. Bajrang Bali Rice Mills has been a fixture on this road for many years now. It’s a large plot of land, which is good because we need the space for all the paddy that arrives in October. The noise from the hullers is constant during the day. We don’t have much in the way of a fancy office, just a small room with a desk and some chairs where we drink tea and talk to the farmers about their yields. Most of our day is spent outdoors or in the shed. We don’t use a lot of big words or marketing talk. We just tell it like it is. If the crop is good, we're happy. If it’s wet, we have more work to do with the dryers and the moisture meters. We have workers who stay on-site during the busy months. It’s like a small village of our own for a few months of the year. We’ve seen the road get busier and more paved over time, but the work inside the mill hasn’t changed much. It’s still about the grain, the heat, and the heavy bags. We just keep moving forward, one season at a time. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do. We’re just local people running a local mill. The sun sets behind the silos every day and we're usually still here working.
