You can find Aggarwal Rice & Gen Mills out in Bazakhana, right on Barnala Road. It’s a wide-open area, which is nice because we have plenty of space for the trucks to turn around. The wind picks up a lot of dust from the road and blows it right through our open doors. Most of the time, I’m just out there in the yard checking the piles or talking to the drivers. We have been operating here for years. The machinery is getting a bit noisy these days, maybe it needs some new parts, but it still grinds through the paddy well enough. Barnala Road is always busy with people heading to the bigger towns. We just stay here and do our thing. There isn’t much to look at, just some grey buildings and a lot of rice bags. We don’t have a receptionist or anything like that. If someone wants to talk, they just walk into the shed and find one of us. It’s a simple way of doing things. We work hard when the crop comes in and things are a bit slower during the off-season. That's when we fix the leaks in the roof and grease the bearings. It's just a local mill. We know our neighbors and they know us. No big secrets here, just a lot of work and a bit of sweat every day. We are just part of the local scene on Barnala Road, getting by and keeping the mill going year after year.
