Swangiya Bachat Nidhi Limited

We are out in Barmer, in a place called Bhera Ram Dhanu. You can find us under C/O-Ramesh. This part of Rajasthan is quite different from the big cities like Jaipur. It is a lot more open and the pace of life is slower. Swangiya Bachat Nidhi Limited is a small local office. We don't have a big fancy building. Our space is very basic, just enough for us to sit and do our accounting. The address is a bit long, but most people around here know exactly where Bhera Ram Dhanu is. We deal with a lot of people from the nearby villages. They come in to talk about their savings or to put some money aside for the future. We know everyone by their first names. It’s a very personal way of doing things. We don't have computers that do everything for us; we still rely a lot on our registers and pens. The dust can be a bit of a problem when the wind blows across the desert, so we are always dusting off the desks and the chairs. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a long break when the sun is at its highest point. We aren't a big corporation. We are just a few people trying to help the community manage their money a little better. It is honest work and we enjoy being a part of the local life here in Barmer. There is no rush to our days, just steady progress.
