Our workshop and shop are right near Laxmi Cinema in Shubhash Chowk. If you are walking around that area, you will probably hear the sound of saws or the smell of fresh wood polish coming from our door. We have been here for years, making all sorts of things like beds, tables, and cabinets. The floor is almost always covered in a layer of fine sawdust, no matter how much we sweep it up. We do not have a big showroom with bright lights. Most of the furniture is just stacked up or being worked on right there in the middle of the room. People come in from the chowk to ask if we can fix a broken chair or make something specific for their new house. We use basic tools and our hands for most of the work. It is a bit loud and messy, but that is how a furniture shop is supposed to be. Sometimes we sit outside on the stone steps when the glue is drying or when we are waiting for a wood delivery to arrive. The traffic near the cinema is always a bit hectic, but we are used to the noise by now. We do not spend money on big ads. Usually, people just see our work in a neighbor's house and then find their way to us at Shubhash Chowk. It is hard work and our hands are usually stained with paint or varnish by the end of the day. We stay until late.
