Om Sai Food Products

Om Sai Food Products is based in Karanjia, which is over in the Mayurbhanj district. We make various food items right here at our post. It started out quite small, and we’ve stayed that way for the most part. The kitchen and packing area are usually busy with a few local women who help us get everything ready. We use simple ingredients and try to keep things straightforward. Mayurbhanj is a beautiful area, but it can be quite remote, so we handle a lot of our own distribution to the nearby markets. The smell of spices and cooked grain is always in the air around the building. We don't have any high-tech machinery, just some basic tools that get the job done. Our office is just a corner of the main room where we keep the receipts and the order books. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait it out, but that’s just how it is here. We aren't trying to be a giant company; we just want to make products that people around here like to eat. It’s a lot of manual work, from cleaning the raw materials to sealing the bags by hand. We are just a local business that provides something for the community in Karanjia. It takes a lot of time to get every batch right.
