In Ward No. 12 of Prafulla Nagar, you will find our small yard where we work with cement. It is a heavy job, mostly involving mixing and pouring into different molds. We make all sorts of things, from basic blocks to pipes. The sun is our biggest friend and enemy because it dries the products but makes us sweat all day. Our hands are usually covered in gray dust or dried cement. It is not the kind of place where you wear nice clothes. We have been in Prafulla Nagar for some time, and the neighbors are used to the sound of the mixer running. Sometimes the mix isn't just right, and we have to start over, which is a waste of time and material, but you can't help it. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small corner where we keep the books and take orders. Most of our customers are local people building small things or fixing up their homes. We load the trucks ourselves most of the time. It keeps us busy from morning until evening. By the end of the day, everything is covered in that fine cement film. We just wash up and head home, then come back and do the same thing the next day. It is steady work and it keeps us going. There is always a demand for cement stuff around here.
