Down in Shalepali Govindpur, things move a bit slower than in the big cities, and that suits us just fine. Our oil industry is right here in Bargarh, and we spend our days dealing with seeds and heavy machinery. Making oil is a hot and greasy job, especially when the summer heat hits this part of the country. The smell of the seeds is very strong throughout the building, and it’s something you never really forget. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a long time, and we all just know what needs to be done. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to produce the oil and get it sent out to the local markets. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing them ourselves. It’s just part of the daily routine here. We see the farmers coming and going, and there is always some news to share over a cup of tea. The building is simple and serves its purpose without any extra frills. We don't have a big mission statement, we just show up and do the work because people need what we make. It’s an honest way to make a living and we are glad to be part of the community in Bargarh for all these years.
