Our presence in Jharsuguda is pretty straightforward, located right in the heart of this industrial part of Odisha. We do not have a fancy building with a name, people just know it as the L&T spot here. The office is mostly a hub for our staff who are working on the infrastructure projects nearby. It is a dusty town because of all the mining and industrial activity, so our shoes are rarely clean when we come back from the field. Inside, the space is functional with simple tables, chairs, and a lot of project maps pinned to the walls. The heat in Odisha can be quite something in the summer, so the fans are always running at full speed. We spend a lot of time on our laptops or out on the road visiting different sites. There is not much in the way of decoration, just the stuff we need to work. We usually eat our lunch together at one of the big desks, talking about the day’s problems and how to fix them. It is a tough environment but there is a good sense of camaraderie among the guys here. We are not here for the looks, just to make sure the work gets done and the projects move forward. It is a basic, hardworking setup that fits the needs of a place like Jharsuguda perfectly.
