Maa Dakhinakali Store

Maa Dakhinakali Store is right in the middle of Telenpali Market in Banaharpali. It’s a small shop but we keep a lot of stuff on the shelves. You know how markets are, they get really crowded on certain days. We open up early in the morning when the sun is just coming up. The tea stall next door starts his stove and that’s when we pull up the shutters. Most people around here know us by name. We sell the usual things people need for their houses. Sometimes we run out of things because the delivery truck got stuck somewhere, but we try to keep it stocked. It’s dusty work keeping everything clean. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors. It’s not just about selling stuff. Sometimes people just stop by to chat about the weather or the crops. The Banaharpali area is quiet mostly, except for market days. My family helps out in the store when it gets busy. We don’t have a computer or anything, we just use a notebook to write things down. It works fine for us. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles or a torch. You get used to it. If you’re walking through Telenpali Market, you’ll see our sign. It’s a bit faded now but still there. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and don’t plan on moving anywhere else. It's a decent life here.
