Asharaalok Charitable Foundation

We operate out of Godbhaga in Bargarh. Sushama Mahananda is the one who looks after the place. It's a small village setup, really. You won't find any big signs or glass doors here. We are just part of the local community. People know us as Asharaalok. We do what we can for the folks living around Godbhaga. It’s a quiet life here in Bargarh, but there’s always someone needing a bit of help with something. We don't have a huge staff. It’s mostly just a couple of us handling whatever comes through the door. The post office is nearby, which makes it easy for mail. We've stayed in this same spot for a while. It’s home for us. We don't go around making big promises or talking about grand plans. We just take things one day at a time. Sometimes we help with food, other times it’s just giving someone a hand with their paperwork or health forms. It’s basic stuff. Sushama is usually the one you’ll run into if you stop by. Bargarh is a place where everyone knows everyone, so news travels fast. We like being tucked away in Godbhaga. It’s comfortable and we know all the neighbors. There isn't much more to it than that. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing without making any fuss about it. Our doors aren't always wide open but we are usually around the back or in the main room if anyone needs us.
