Vaman International Private Limited

Vaman International is tucked away in Gala No. 8 at the Italian Compound. It’s in the Ittbatti area of Goregaon East. If you know Mumbai, you know these industrial compounds are busy places. There’s always someone unloading a crate or a delivery van blocking the way. Our space is basically a warehouse and a small office area squeezed together. We handle international trade, so we spend a lot of time on the computer checking shipping schedules and talking to customs agents. It’s not a glamorous job. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling most weeks. We deal with various products coming in and going out, so there is always a bit of a mess with packing tape and bubble wrap. The noise from the other galas in the compound is pretty constant. Sometimes we have to shout over the sound of a nearby machine just to hear the phone. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see us, they usually have to navigate through the narrow lanes of the compound. We’ve been at this for a while now, and we’ve gotten used to the fast pace of Goregaon. It’s just us, a few desks, and a lot of logistics to manage. We just try to get the orders right and keep the shipments moving on time. It’s a lot of coordination, but we’ve managed to keep things going steadily for quite some time now.
