Tambu Dayal Enterprises

Loha Mandi is a tough place to work sometimes. It is the iron market in Bahadurganj, so there is always the sound of metal clanging and heavy trucks idling nearby. Tambu Dayal Enterprises is right in the middle of it, near Sadar Bazar. Our floors are concrete and always covered in a bit of grey dust. We have heavy doors that we roll up every morning at eight. It is a lot of physical work, moving things around and making sure the orders are correct. The heat in the summer makes the metal parts almost too hot to touch. We usually have a big jug of cold water sitting near the entrance for anyone who needs it. The noise from Sadar Bazar carries over, especially on market days. It is a bit chaotic, but we have our own system. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. People just walk in and find us in the back. Usually, we are wearing old clothes that we don't mind getting stained. It is the kind of place where you have to speak loudly to be heard over the traffic outside. We have been in this spot for a long time and the walls are stained with years of work. It is not pretty, but it is where the work gets done. We just keep our heads down and get through the day's list.
