K & K Exporters

K & K Exporters is located inside the Hotel Oberoi Anand on Civil Lines. Being in a hotel is a bit different for an export business, but it works for us. Our office is at number 46, which is part of the hotel property. Civil Lines is a nice part of town, much quieter than the market areas. We handle a lot of different products, mostly whatever our buyers are looking for at the time. The lobby of the hotel is always full of travelers, so we see a lot of new faces every day. Inside our workspace, it’s mostly just shelves of files and a few computers. We’ve been here for a while and the staff at the hotel all know us by name now. Sometimes we meet clients in the restaurant downstairs because it’s easier than squeezing into our little office. We don't have a big fancy sign outside, just our name on the directory. The work involves a lot of checking shipping rates and calling up suppliers. It can be tedious, but we’re used to it. We take our tea breaks together and talk about things other than work. It’s a small team, so we all have to do a bit of everything, from answering phones to packing small samples. It’s a steady job in a nice location, and we don't complain much. Usually, we wrap things up by late afternoon before the evening rush starts. It is a quiet way to do business.
