Jyoti Traders

Jyoti Traders is tucked away in Shop No.-6 on Gopal Gali. We are right by Art Press in the Bada Bazar area, specifically within Sajal Market. If you know Bada Bazar, you know how crowded it can get. The lanes are narrow and there are people everywhere carrying goods and shouting out to each other. Our shop is just one of many in this maze of alleys. It’s a small space, mostly filled with stock piled up towards the ceiling. We don't have much room for people to sit, so most business happens right at the counter. It’s always a bit dark in the gali, even when the sun is out, so we keep the lights on all day. The atmosphere is very traditional. You can smell the different things being sold in the market, from spices to paper. We’ve been here for a long time, and the floor is a bit worn down from all the walking. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; we use a ledger to keep our records. It’s how we’ve always done it. Sometimes the delivery guys struggle to get their carts through the crowd to reach us. It’s a hectic place to work, but we like being in the middle of all that energy. It feels like the heart of the town. We just keep our heads down and handle our customers one by one. We finish up late most nights when the market starts to quiet down.
