Flourish Embroidery & Fashions

Flourish Embroidery & Fashions is located in Chak Mehmood. You can find us pretty easily because we are right near Sultan Jahan Masjid. It’s a lively neighborhood with a lot of history. We’ve been working out of this space for some time, focusing on embroidery work and different kinds of fashions. The sound of the machines is something you get used to. We do a lot of handwork too, sitting near the door where the light is better. It’s not a large operation. Just a few of us working on whatever orders come in that week. We see a lot of people going to and from the Masjid, and sometimes they stop in to ask about a repair or a new outfit. The shop is filled with threads of every color you can think of. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough space for all the fabric, but we make it work. We aren't trying to be a big factory. We just like the detail of the embroidery and seeing a piece come together. People in Chak Mehmood know us by name, which is nice. It makes the workday go by faster when you can chat with the neighbors. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just stay here, do our work, and hope people like what we make. It’s a decent way to earn a living in this part of town.
