Bala Ji Boutique

Bala Ji Boutique is situated on Badaun Road, very close to the Bala Ji Mandir. If you’re heading towards the temple, you’ll see our small shop on the side. I started this place a few years back because I’ve always been good with a needle and thread. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers sitting at the machines all day. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with lights and mirrors. It is just a workroom filled with rolls of fabric and half-finished suits hanging on the walls. People come in with their own cloth or pick something from the few bundles we have lying around. We do a lot of stitching for local weddings and sometimes just simple repairs for the neighbors. Badaun Road is always noisy, so we usually have the radio playing to drown out the trucks. We try to get the orders done by the date we promise, but sometimes the power cuts out for hours and we fall behind a bit. That’s just how it is here. We don’t use any computer programs to design things. We just use chalk and a measuring tape like I learned years ago. It’s a simple business. We know our customers and they know us. If you need a blouse stitched or a suit fitted, we’re usually here from morning until the sun goes down.
